General Guidelines
- Always bow when entering and leaving the training hall.
- Always bow when entering and leaving the training area (only at the beginning and end of practice). If an instructor is present, bow in their direction.
- When a Master or instructor enters the training area, bow toward them.
- Avoid being late. If you need to leave practice early, inform the instructor before training begins.
- If you must leave during practice, let the instructor know. The person leading the practice must always be aware of where the students are.
- Eating in the training hall is not allowed.
- Fingernails and toenails must be kept short. Sharp or overly long nails can be dangerous both to yourself and others.
- Jewelry, watches, hair clips, or similar items are not allowed during training, unless there is a medical reason. In that case, inform the instructors.
- Feet must be clean.
- Mobile phones must be kept on silent. In exceptional cases, notify the instructor.

Independent Training
The dojang offers the opportunity for independent training during open practice times (Vapaavuoro). At the moment, a regular open practice takes place every other Monday (check the training schedule).
Open practice is listed in the training schedule in two ways:
- The slot is marked “Vapaavuoro”
- The slot is marked with a group, but followed by !PERUUTETTU! in red, with an additional note: “This time can be used for independent training.”
Be sure to read the additional information field, as it may also state another reason for cancellation (e.g. a school event). Naturally we expect good conduct, respect for the space and equipment, and that the area is kept tidy.
Please note that at certain times (holidays, summer, daytime hours) the main doors of Kamppailuareena may be locked. For this reason, it is a good idea to notify Vilma or Jari in advance about your independent training.
Independent training sessions are intended for practicing routines of techniques that have already been taught. If you are uncertain about a technique, check it with the head instructor.
Kamppailuareena also offers a paid option for independent training when the booking calendar is empty. You can read more about this on Kamppailuareena’s website or ask the instructors.
